“The Jersey Aero Club admits members through an application and acceptance process. An individual wishing to join the club must submit a completed application. The application is then read and is voted on at a meeting of the membership. Assuming an affirmative vote to accept at that meeting, the individual is then considered a club member until their resignation or expulsion.”

“Members of the governing body are elected annually. Some seats are up for election each year while others have 2-year terms. Each regular member of the club in good standing is permitted to vote in the election.”

“Certain governance decisions must be voted on by a quorum of regular members in good standing. Examples of such items are: Acceptance of applications as members, acceptance of resignations, expulsions of regular members, and changes to bylaws.”

“Committees are advisory only.”

“IRS filings are reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors prior to their submission.”

“The Finance Committee, which consists of members in good standing none of whom are members of the governing body, requires each member of the governing body as well as every other club member who has spending authority to fill out a conflict of interest policy acknowledgement and survey on an annual basis. Any potential conflicts of interest are investigated and, if determined to be actual conflicts of interest, are dealt with appropriately.”

“The club's governing documents are available on the club's public website, www.jerseyaeroclub.org. The club's policies and financial statements are available upon request from a member of the public. To date, no such requests have been received.”
