Activity 2

Counseling and social services our y understands the challenges that keep individuals and families from reaching their full potential and responds with a host of counseling and social services that strengthens individual growth and family life. In 2013, we provided behaviorial healthcare services to approximately 1,785 children, adults and families in our area. More than 1,280 children and families benefit each year from our programs, which are designed to offer safe, confidential services that -we provided 3,686 supervised visits between foster children and their biological parents and over 9,519 hours of mentoring for at-risk youth and their parents.-our outpatient team provided 9,412 mental health and substance abuse counseling sessions from our office in matawan.-play therapy services were provided to over 160 children between the ages of 4 and 12.-approximately 50 adolescents received intensive, four days a week, substance abuse treatment from our intensive outpatient program for teens. -supportive services were provided for about 300 chldren living in foster homes throughout monmouth county.-nearly 157 families received in-home therapeutic services through our family support and family preservation programs.

Activity 3

Family health & fitness- community to build family bonds the family health and wellness center brings together people from all ages, incomes, backgrounds and communities from throughout monmouth county. The y has been a mainstay in the red bank area since it was founded in 1874. More than 9,175 members count on the y for their health and wellness needs. Located near downtown red bank, the facility features a warm-water therapeutic pool, a 25-yard lap pool, indoor track and gymnasium. The center encourages healthy living for all ages with a variety of health and fitness programs at the facility and in the community. Members and community residents benefited from numerous no-cost health and wellness programs made possbile through partnerships and collaborations, including health screenings and disease prevention and nutrition seminars. As part of the center's commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, $162,000 in financial assistance was provided to 861 individuals to help offset membership and program fees.family health and wellness 2013 highlights-more than 10,900 members and guests were served at the facilty through fitness and wellness programs.-approximately 825 had their first experience in learning how to swim at the y.-approximately 1,381 progressive swim classess and about 115 group fitness classes were held for members each week.-over 90 youth and teens per week enjoyed the youth and teen center with strength training and cardio equipment, interactive video fitness games and computer activities.-more than 1,500 kids participated in a variety of programs, including youth sports, basketball leagues, progressive swim and music, science and arts.-196 children learned how to swim in our community learn to swim outreach program, 120 third graders received no cost water safety seminars and 4 free swim lessons as part of our third grade swim program, and 225 elementary students in red bank received free healthy kids memberships to help keep them active.
