Activity 2

Counseling and social services serving monmouth county and our local communities since 1974, the community ymca's counseling and social services programs have continued to meet the ever-changing needs of the community by providing high quality, client-centered, therapeutic counseling and support services. We provide a wide range of services, including foster family support, mentoring, child visitation programs and outpatient and in-home counseling for mental health and substance abuse. More than 1,600 children and families benefit each year from our programs, which are designed to offer safe, confidential services that strengthen family life and individual growth.our y understands the challenges that keep individuals from reaching their full potential and responds with a host of counseling and social services. In 2011, we provided behaviorial healthcare services to approximately 1,600 children, adults, families and groups in our area. - we provided approximatley 2,400 supervised visits between foster children and their biological parents and over 5,700 hours of mentoring for at-risk you and their parents.- our outpatient team provided approximately 3,500 mental health and substance abuse counseling sessions from our office in matawan.- play therapy services were provided to over 75 children between the ages of 4 and 12.- apprxomately 50 adolescents received intensive, four day a week, substance abuse treatment from our intensive outpatient program for teens.- supportive services were provided for about 300 children living in foster homes throughout monmouth county.- nearly 125 families received in-home therapeutic services through our family support program and our family preservation program.

Activity 3

Family health & fitnessfrom infants to active older adults, the community y's family health and fitness center is committed to helping members of all ages and backgrounds live healthier lifestyles by providing support for active living and good nutrition. Programs are designed to help members establish and reach realistic goals for self improvement and develop a healthy spirt, mind and body through regular exercise, proper nutrition, stress management, and health education. Sports and recreation programs for youth, adults and families encouarge teamwork, positive interaction and development of social and physical skills. A variety of family-centered activites are available to members and the community to build family bonds.the family health and fitness center brings together people from all ages, backgrounds and communities throughout monmouth county. The y has been a mainstay in the red bank area since 1874. More than 8,000 members count on the y for their health and wellness needs. Located near downtown red bank, the facility features a warm-water therapeutic pool, a 25-yard lap pool, indoor track and gymnasium.the center encourages healthy living for all ages with dynamic health and fitness programs at the facility and in the community. Members and community residents benefited from numerous no-cost health and wellness programs made possible through partnerships and collaborations, including health screenings and disease prevention and nutrition seminars. As part of the center's commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportuity to learn, grow and thrive, $175,000 in financial assistance was provided to 1,780 individuals to help offset membership and program fees. Family health and fitness 2011 highlights- more than 13,000 members and guests were served at the facilty through fitness and wellness programs - approximately 3,200 had their first experience in learning how to swim at the y.- approximately 150 progressive swim classes and about 80 group fitness classes were held for members each week- over 125 youth and teens per week enjoyed the computer room and interactive video fitness games in the community center- more than 1,500 kids participated in a variety of youth sports programs, including y rookies, dash & splash and basketball leagues progressive swim lessons- 150 children learned how to swim in our community learn to swim outreach program
