The mission of chagrin arts is to enrich life by presenting inspiring arts programming and stimulating conversations.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Chagrin foundation for arts & culture presents a minimum of four lectures/discussions throughout the year. Based upon themes that are newsworthy, relevant, or just plain interesting, the programs are conducted informally allowing opportunities for interactive dialogue between the presenter(s)and the audience. This season, programming was designed as an enhancement to the performing arts series making for and providing an educational and richer experience. This programming normally attracts approximately 1,000 people from throughout northeast ohio. The disruption caused by the pandemic resulted in all programming being cancelled beginning in march 2020. A virtual program was developed to stay relevant and active for the audiences.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

The chagrin foundation for arts & culture presents performing arts concerts and productions throughout the year presenting a variety of artistic forms. An average of five events are selected based on the interest of our patons and the input of our programming committee. The artists are locally, regionally, or nationally known and all events take place within the chagrin valley. In addition, with each one of the events, outreach concerts/masterclasses for students are planned at several of the chagrin valley schools. As mentioned in part iii, line 28, this year the lectures/discussions were developed to provide an educational and unique enhancement to the concert/production experience for the audiences. This programming normally attracts approximately 2,000 people from throughout northeast ohio. The disruption caused by the pandemic resulted in the majority of these programs to be cancelled beginning in march 2020. However, the use of video and virtual platforms enabled programming to take place over the summer months in outdoor spaces adhering to the guidelines of social distancing and mandatory requirements for wearing masks.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 30

The chagrin foundation for arts & culture collaborated with other organizations to present programs of mutual interest and benefit. This past year included continued collaborations with: the ohio innocence project, kent state university opera theatre program, and a shakespeare play in collaboration with a neighboring community.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt4THE MISSION OF CHAGRIN ARTS IS TO ENRICH LIFE BY PRESENTING INSPIRING ARTS PROGRAMMING AND STIMULATING CONVERSATIONS.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt5CHAGRIN FOUNDATION FOR ARTS & CULTURE PRESENTS A MINIMUM OF FOUR LECTURES/DISCUSSIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt6THE CHAGRIN FOUNDATION FOR ARTS & CULTURE PRESENTS PERFORMING ARTS CONCERTS AND PRODUCTIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR PRESENTING A VARIETY OF ARTISTIC FORMS.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt7THE CHAGRIN FOUNDATION FOR ARTS & CULTURE COLLABORATED WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO PRESENT PROGRAMS OF MUTUAL INTEREST AND BENEFIT. THIS PAST YEAR INCLUDED CONTINUED COLLABORATIONS WITH: THE OHIO INNOCENCE PROJECT, KENT STATE UNIVERSITY OPERA THEATRE PROGRAM, AND A SHAKESPEARE PLAY IN COLLABORATION WITH A NEIGHBORING COMMUNITY.
