Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

No provision has been made for income taxes as the union is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(5) of the internal revenue code and the applicable state of california code section. The union follows asc 740, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, which clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements and provides guidance on the recognition, de-recognition and measurement of benefits related to an entity's uncertain tax positions. Management evaluated the union's tax positions and concluded that the union had maintained its tax-exempt status and had taken no uncertain tax positions that required recognition or disclosure in the financial statements. Therefore, no provision or liability for income taxes has been included in the financial statements.
