Activity 2

Clean and safe services - the uniformed street cleaning team removes trash, weeds, graffiti, sediment, and other debris from the streets and sidewalks on a daily basis. In addition, the hospitality/safety ambassador team assists and welcomes workers, residents, and visitors with directions and other needs. The organization hosts quarterly public safety meetings with the metropolitan police department (mpd), metro transit police, and property owners to address local safety concerns. It is anticipated that the bid may be asked to expand these services to include the maintenance, programming and security services for the new parks and open spaces that are being developed in the capitol riverfront.

Activity 3

Economic development - the organization works with dc agencies and property owners to assure that the capitol riverfronts basic infrastructure needs are met, including street and sidewalk repair, utility upgrades, traffic circulation, transit access, parking and management. In addition, the organization works to improve the areas landscaping, street furniture, and signage which support a high quality public realm and neighborhood development. The organization also works with property owners and other entities on business attraction efforts that include attracting office tenants to this submarket, attracting neighborhood support retail and restaurants to the capitol riverfront, attracting residents to the residential offerings in the neighborhood (apartments, condos, coops, and townhomes), and working with the dc government and property owners to facilitate the construction of proposed parks, open spaces and the anacostia riverwalk trail system.
