Mission

Saddlebred rescue, inc. (sbr) is a 501 (c) (3) organization which exists to save unwanted horses from slaughter and return them to useful, productive lives, and to educate the public on concerns facing the saddle seat breeds. Sbr is unique as many of our volunteers are professional horsemen.

To educate the public regarding the plight of unwanted horses and those that go to slaughter.

THE ANNUAL BUDGET IN RECENT YEARS HAS BEEN IN THE $300K TO $400K RANGE WHICH MEANS WE PURCHASE HORSES FROM AUCTIONS WHERE HORSES ARE GOING TO SLAUGHTER AND REHABILITATE AND EVALUATE UNTIL THE HORSES ARE PLACED INTO NEW HOMES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. SINCE EARLY 2006 THE RESCUE HAS PLACED FOR ADOPTION OVER 900 HORSES.
