The purpose of the organization is to improve the quality of education for children at a primary school in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Matagalpa is a very poor area where the average family income is only $50 per month. The organization will operate to enhance the extremely poor educational and health conditions at the school by providing the funds to make improvements so that children do not continue to suffer. The project includes three basic components: improvements of infastructure, health and sanitation, and supplying of educational materials. The infastructure work includes the replacement of zinc roofing materials on two classroom buildings, and the repair of metal and wooden doors. The health and sanitation component includes the construction of a sanitary latrine on the school property, installation of potable water, and two medical check-ups for all students during the school year.
