The organization uses the following methods to establish the compensation of the executive director: 1. Independent decision-making the executive director shall not participate in, or be present for, any board or committee discussions or votes regarding their own compensation. Compensation decisions shall be made by the full board of directors or by a committee specifically delegated the authority to make compensation decisions and comprised solely of individuals who do not have a conflict of interest with respect to the decision. 2. Use of comparable data prior to approving compensation, the board (or committee) shall obtain and rely upon appropriate comparability data, such as compensation levels for similar positions at comparable nonprofit organizations, considering size, budget, geographic location, and mission as reflected in compensation surveys compiled by independent sources. 3. Documentation of the decision the basis for the boards decision shall be contemporaneously documented in board or committee minutes. Documentation must include: the terms of the approved compensation arrangement; the comparability data relied upon and how it was obtained; the names of all individuals present during the discussion and their votes; a record of any conflicts of interest disclosed and how they were addressed; the effective date of the approved compensation. 4. Periodic review the executive directors compensation shall be reviewed and approved at least annually. Adjustments may be considered in light of changes in organizational capacity, market conditions, performance, and comparability data. 5. Compliance the organization shall follow this policy to qualify for the irs rebuttable presumption of reasonableness and to ensure compensation decisions are consistent with the organizations charitable mission and fiduciary duties.

Financial literacy - the organization helps clients chart their path to financial independence. Clients can build financial wellness, whether they are just starting out, saving for a child's education, thinking about investing, or planning for retirement. This program is primarily offered via a multi-week cohort program taught by financial professionals, plus suppemental workshops throughout the year. Digital literacy & digital equity - the organization provides free laptops to clients who otherwise would not have the hardware to apply for and retain employment. Dress for success san francisco also offers ongoing basic and intermediate digital skills training, from excel to google certification and more. Our goal is to help our clients land better jobs through digital skills training.
