| IRS990/Desc | 0 | EmcArts delivered services via three types of programs in 2017 adaptive leadershipprograms for individuals (Arts Leaders as Cultural Innovators ALACI), fororganizations (Single Organization Services and New Pathways for the Arts) and for communities to address their selected complex-adaptive challenges within their city (Community Innovation Labs).The ALACI programs for individual leaders served 11 participants, taking the work learned in the seminars and individual coaching out to their 11 different organizations and beyond.The organization's Single Organization Services programs served 5 arts non-profit organizations, conducting adaptive planning processes with working groups from those organizations.The EmcArts New Pathways Programs for the Arts in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, Canada engaged 3 organizations each in an incubating innovation process to develop and implement prototypes in response to their complex challenges. In Alaska, 6 arts, cultural and native organizations from throughout the state engaged with our New Pathways workshops delivered virtually, four organizations finished out the incubating Innovation process with scaling grant support from EmcArts, and one organization participated in a second round of experimentation. In Houston, 16 organizations participated in a workshop series, 5 organizations engaged in coaching, and 3 organizations began an incubating innovation process. In Charlotte, 10 organizations participated in forums delivered by EmcArts to prepare for a workshop series beginning in 2018.Finally, the Community Innovation Labs Program focused on addressing deep, complex community challenges in four communities, completing programs in Providence, Rhode Island, Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas which culminated with a face-to-face gathering with Lab participants and the larger community to celebrate and share learnings, serving over 165 participants across all three communities. The Community Innovation Lab program also conducted a workshop series in Buffalo, NY for 25 participants, and began a new program in Indianapolis for 22 participants, identifying local staff for the project and beginning to learn concepts about how best to implement the program in the community. Many participants in the Community Innovation Labs were affiliated with organizations with which they shared their learnings from the program, such as local social service non-profits, community foundations, neighborhood associations, religious institutions, local government as well as many arts and cultural non-profit organizations. |
