Restore NYC is focused on providing holistic long-term aftercare services for international suvivors of sex trafficking in New York City. This is accomplished through identifying individuals trafficked and offering counseling, case management, housing, and economic empowerment services. We measure impact to improve our services and share our learnings through targeted trainings to front-line professionals who have the opportunity to identify more survivors of trafficking.

Restore is a nonprofit organization making freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the United States.

IRS990/Desc0Client Services:In 2020, Restore received 350 referrals. When able to assess for trafficking, Restore identified 59% of referrals who had not yet been identified as survivors of human trafficking. Restore served 179 survivors in case management and 64 in counseling. Clients completing case management and counseling services on average had an 18% increase in mental wellbeing scores. In partnership with REST (Real Escape from the Sex Trade) in Seattle, Restore launched a new technology platform created by Microsoft called Freedom Signal. Freedom Signal uses technology to reach out to individuals who are being advertised for sex on the most popular illicit sex-buying sites. Since launching this initiative in January 2020, Restore communicated with 38 potential survivors providing support and resources. Restore began a new partnership with the Queens Family Justice Center (QFJC), an initiative of the Mayors Office to Combat Domestic Violence and the Queens County District Attorney's Office. The QFJC is a walk-in center where victims can immediately access comprehensive services with multiple agencies onsite, including the District Attorneys Office, NYPD, New York City Health and Hospitals, and New York City Department of Social Services. Restore is now a service provider at the QFJC receiving referrals for a trafficking screening and assessment and referral to our services. Housing:In 2020, Restore served 61 clients in our Housing program. Thirty-eight percent of new clients to Restore reported being homeless which dropped to four percent for those who engaged in Restores services. Our flexible-funding service was delivered to 44 survivors and 73 child family members to secure safe, stable, independent living. Survivors were either moved from homelessness to housed, or homelessness was prevented via this service. Restore served 10 survivors in our transitional home and provided emergency housing via Restore-specific hotel partnerships for 18 survivors. Restores leadership in housing includes co-chairing the shelter subcommittee on the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force (BKHTTF) alongside Safe Horizon, Brooklyn DAs Office, and the FBI New York Office. Restore was also invited to be on the Domestic Violence sub-committee as part of New York City Continuum of Care (COC). The COC oversees all HUD funding for New York City. Economic Empowerment (EE):In 2020, Restore served 122 survivors in our Economic Empowerment program. Due to the pandemic, 80% of survivors lost their job, and Restores business partners decreased from 30 to 3. But by the end of the year, 35% of survivors who lost their jobs were employed again, and Restore acquired seven new business partners. Restore also launched the COVID-19 Relief and Stabilization Fund to address survivors unemployment and financial needs. This fund provided $444,300 in emergency cash assistance to 122 clients and their 86 children and 29 adult family members. As part of Restores entrepreneurship services, Restore held a Pitch Night which resulted in grant funding for 10 survivors to launch their business ventures, two of which have started operating. This past year, 53 survivors were members of a Restore-incubated social enterprise originally launched in 2016. Restore partnered with Salesforce in using a job-matching platform to track business-partner leads, manage placements, and pay cooperative members. Restore also launched a best-in-class Salesforce platform community (external-facing website) which was entered into a Salesforce award competition.Other noteworthy partnerships include WIBO and FAST. Restore launched a new partnership with Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO) in Fall 2020 to provide a more intensive entrepreneurship training program beyond Entrepreneurship Lab (ELab) to survivors of trafficking interested in growing their business ventures. In 2020, Restore was one of twelve NGOs in the United States selected for the Survivor Inclusion Initiative in partnership with

IRS990/MissionDesc0Restore NYC is focused on providing holistic long-term aftercare services for international suvivors of sex trafficking in New York City. This is accomplished through identifying individuals trafficked and offering counseling, case management, housing, and economic empowerment services. We measure impact to improve our services and share our learnings through targeted trainings to front-line professionals who have the opportunity to identify more survivors of trafficking.
