Mission

Next ten is focused on innovation and intersection between the economy, the environment, and quality of life issues for all californians. We provide critical data to help inform the state's efforts to grow the economy and reduce global warming emissions. Next ten envisions an educated and engaged electorate that makes informed decisions about and participates actively in issues important to california's future. Next ten works to achieve this vision by:- commissioning research from leading experts on complex state issues.- creating and communicating highly accessible information through a portfolio of nonpartisan educational materials.- employing innovative "out of the box" means of engagement to ensure all californians have access to the political process.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Green innovation index: a report by next ten that analyzes key economic and environmental indicators to help us better understand the role green innovation plays in reducing greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming while growing our economy. Next ten's current intentions are to continue to follow these indicators over the next several years. The updated report for 2010 was released on october 7, 2010.
Activity 3
Green jobs monitor: report title: 'many shades of green' is a companion report to the 'california green innovation index' which builds on the green business analysis published in the index since 2008. This report uncovers new economic growth taking place across the state in the form of business and job generation.
