DANCING CLASSROOMS - A BALLROOM DANCE PROGRAM, DURING THE SCHOOL DAY FOR 5TH AND 6TH GRADE STUDENTS AS WELL AS 9TH - 12TH GRADE SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS. DANCING CLASSROOMS INTRODUCES CHILDREN TO THE ART FORM OF BALLROOM DANCE, WHICH THEY CAN ENJOY THROUGHOUT LIFE. BUT DANCING CLASSROOMS IS ALSO A SPECIFIC METHOD OF TEACHING DANCE THAT IS DESIGNED TO FOSTER TEAMWORK, MUTUAL RESPECT AND DISCIPLINE AMONG DIVERSE CLASSMATES. THROUGH THE MASTERY AND PERFORMANCE OF SIX BASIC BALLROOM DANCES, STUDENTS DEVELOP A GREATER SENSE OF CONFIDENCE, CIVILTY, TOLERANCE, AND PATIENCE WITHIN THEMSELVES AND FOR EACH OTHER. STUDENTS IMPROVE THEIR FITNESS AND COORDINATION AS THEY FOCUS THEIR PHYSICAL ENERGY ON THE RHYTHMIC MOVEMENT TO MUSIC. FINALLY, THE STUDENTS BROADEN THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ARTISTIC, CULTURAL, HISTORIC, AND GEOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS OF THE SIX DANCES. LAST YEAR'S ENROLLMENT WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,800 STUDENTS.-$61,305
SATURDAY SCHOLARSHIPS - AN EXTENSION OF DANCING CLASSROOMS. STUDENTS WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE DANCING CLASSROOMS PROGRAM ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ADDITIONAL FREE CLASSES. THE PROGRAM BUILDS ON THE DANCES AND LESSONS LEARNED IN DANCING CLASSROOMS AS WELL AS FOSTERS SOCIAL AWARENESS, CONFIDENCE, AND SELF-ESTEEM THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF SOCIAL DANCE. Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Dancing classrooms - a ballroom dance program, during the school day for 5th and 6th grade students as well as 9th - 12th grade special education students. Dancing classrooms introduces children to the art form of ballroom dance, which they can enjoy throughout life. But dancing classrooms is also a specific method of teaching dance that is designed to foster teamwork, mutual respect and discipline among diverse classmates. Through the mastery and performance of six basic ballroom dances, students develop a greater sense of confidence, civilty, tolerance, and patience within themselves and for each other. Students improve their fitness and coordination as they focus their physical energy on the rhythmic movement to music. Finally, the students broaden their knowledge of the artistic, cultural, historic, and geographic elements of the six dances. Last year's enrollment was approximately 1,800 students.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

Saturday scholarships - an extension of dancing classrooms. Students who successfully complete the dancing classrooms program are eligible to participate in additional free classes. The program builds on the dances and lessons learned in dancing classrooms as well as fosters social awareness, confidence, and self-esteem through the practice of social dance. Last year's enrollment was approximately 175 students.

DANCING CLASSROOMS INTRODUCES CHILDREN TO THE ART FORM OF BALLROOM DANCE, WHICH THEY CAN ENJOY THROUGHOUT LIFE. BUT DANCING CLASSROOMS IS ALSO A SPECIFIC METHOD OF TEACHING DANCE THAT IS DESIGNED TO FOSTER TEAMWORK, MUTUAL RESPECT AND DISCIPLINE AMONG DIVERSE CLASSMATES. THROUGH THE MASTERY AND PERFORMANCE OF SIX BASIC BALLROOM DANCES, STUDENTS DEVELOP A GREATER SENSE OF CONFIDENCE, CIVILTY, TOLERANCE, AND PATIENCE WITHIN THEMSELVES AND FOR EACH OTHER. STUDENTS IMPROVE THEIR FITNESS AND COORDINATION AS THEY FOCUS THEIR PHYSICAL ENERGY ON THE RHYTHMIC MOVEMENT TO MUSIC. FINALLY, THE STUDENTS BROADEN THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ARTISTIC, CULTURAL, HISTORIC, AND GEOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS OF THE SIX DANCES. LAST YEAR'S ENROLLMENT WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,800 STUDENTS.

STUDENTS WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE DANCING CLASSROOMS PROGRAM ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ADDITIONAL FREE CLASSES. THE PROGRAM BUILDS ON THE DANCES AND LESSONS LEARNED IN DANCING CLASSROOMS AS WELL AS FOSTERS SOCIAL AWARENESS, CONFIDENCE, AND SELF-ESTEEM THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF SOCIAL DANCE. LAST YEAR'S ENROLLMENT WAS APPROXIMATELY 175 STUDENTS.
