“Per bylaws, there are three categories of membership: regular member, associate member, and honorary member.”

“Regular members and associate members have voting rights and are referred to as "members".”

“The governing body makes decisions for the organization, however, the members must approve changes in bylaws. The members would receive a proportional share if the organization were to be dissolved.”

“All board members are asked to voluntarily indicate any conflict of interest. If a conflict exists, the board member would recuse from participation in discussion or decision on the specific issue. Any questions about conflict of interest would be considered and determined by the executive committee. If any member thinks another member may have a conflict, that member would submit the issues to the executive committee for review and decision.”

“Dental Trade Alliance has a compensation committee that was created by the board. Each year the committee obtains an independent analysis of non-profit executive compensation to use in their consideration of the Chief Executive Officer's salary. Annually, this committee also establishes specific criteria upon which any possible bonus is made. The committee meets annually in early December to make their determination. Other staff compensation is determined by the Chief Executive Officer using compensation surveys and a documentation process. This process was most recently completed in 2018.”
