Decker Towers Safety & Security Campaign was a fundraising campaign for safety and security measures at Decker Towers (230 St Paul Street, Burlington) to create a safe neighborhood for the members of the community. The Board has entered into a contract with SSTA for $16,300 to provide shuttle services to nearby community facilities to keep residents engaged. This engagement will foster a greater sense of belonging and deter residents from entering into harmful relationships and behaviors that have contributed to the unsafe environment in their community. These trips include a local community center, shopping trips, and library visits.$0$16,300
Funds were granted to Burlington Housing Authority in the amount of $11,668 to be used for the procurement of materials and services in support of individuals with hoarding and squalor issues and individuals returning to the community from incarceration.$11,668$11,668
The HelpFund is a collaborative effort of community service providers and organizations to consolidate assistance and information to respond to the emergency needs more efficiently of people in Chittenden County who are at risk of losing their housing. Burlington Supportive Housing Initiatives, Inc. was awarded a grant from the Vermont Agency of Human Services in December 2017. This grant had been renewed annually for $8,924 from July 2018 through June 2025. The grant was not renewed in 2025, but the supportive work was transitioned to another community partner. HelpFund recognized grant revenues of $1,731 and expenses of $3,219 during the year. The program made 7 separate disbursements, averaging $460, to assist individuals in need.$0$3,219
The Summer Lunch Program is a partnership between the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department, Burlington Schools Food Service, and the Burlington Housing Authority to enable low-income children to have access to nutritious meals and supervised programming during the summer.
