Milestones envisions a community in which autistic individuals reach their full potential as integrated members of society, with their needs supported and their abilities, strengths, and voices valued. Founded in 2003 by parents seeking to improve the programming available for their children with autism, milestones autism resources is the premier resource in northeast ohio for information about the needs of individuals with autism from birth through adulthood, offering guidance to get you through the day and help you plan for the future. As the rates of autism diagnoses have grown, milestones too has grown to understand the challenges and meet the needs of the autism community, positively impacting lives through education and evidence-based strategies for school, home, community and at work. In 2023, the organization helped over 3,200 parents, professionals, and autistic people in person,as well as 167,000+ through our digital efforts.”

“Autism helpdesk - the milestones helpdesk is ohio's most valued and reliable resource for referrals, services, and the latest information about autism. A free local service, we are standing by to connect families with autistic children, adults, and community professionals who need personalized plans and vetted resources. We served over 900 people in fy23 helping with everything from learning how to access services; resources on how to advocate on behalf of themselves, their child, or their clients; ways to prioritize their needs both in the present and the future; and tailored information about schools, therapists, doctors, support groups, and more. Additionally, we serve as a referral source for county boards and other nonprofits to obtain scholarships for those in need. Milestones trauma informed trainings - our training team conducts culturally competent, trauma informed trainings for first responders, hospital workers, medical students, adult providers, front facing customer service employees and more, on a wide variety of customizable topics based on the latest research-backed practices and information. These trainings are designed to help organizations better serve the autistic population whether that be through hiring, customer service approaches or nuanced new coverage. The trainings also help professionals working with complex populations better assist at the intersection of autism, trauma, and mental health. In fy23, 1,520+ people participated in customized trainings ranging from school districts and agencies to professional organizations.”
