The gross diversion totaled approximately $137,000 and spanned 2020 through the time of discovery in 2021. A police report was filed, and charges are bring brought against the responsible party. The responsible party was terminated. Approximately $30,000 has even recovered to date. The diversion occurred from the Board Reserve Fund and did not impact any project funds or individual donor funds. blueEnergy has strengthened its separation of duties since the incident, introduced more detailed review of source documents in its quarterly financial reporting cycle and is looking to recruit a CPA to serve as treasurer.”
