The jefferson institute is an independent research and education institute. We create and deploy digital tools and integrate them with research and education systems to transform society by empowering engaged access to information. We deliver solutions for on-line learning, digital heritage, and making open data easy.

The jefferson institute is an independent research and education institute. We are inspired by thomas jefferson's challenge to pursue truth, wherever it may lead. We inform decision with alternative solutions. We deploy digital tools and integrate them with research and education systems to transform society by empowering engaged access to information. We deliver on-line learning, digital archives, and data journalism. Information is the currency of democracy and we are living in an information renaissance, but the full potential of this era remains constrained for many citizens. The fundamental principles of democracy remain constant from the time of mr. Jefferson. Our challenge is to bend and bind new information tools to yield the power of these eternal freedoms for all.
