Employees are also covered by a conflict of interest policy contained in the employee handbook, which requires that employees notify the organization of any potential or actual conflicts and that such individual would not be involved in the decision making process. However, as a matter of policy, congressional hispanic leadership institute, inc. Does not engage in any transaction that would result in a perceived or actual conflict of interest.”

“The compensation of the president/ceo is determined by the board of directors. The board of directors made an initial determination of the salary level based on market values for similar positions in nonprofits and the budgetary constraints of a small nonprofit organization. Annually, the performance of the president/ceo is evaluated and a decision is made by the board to award a merit increase and/or bonus based on previously agreed upon objectives for the organization and the president/ceo. These increases are also evaluated to ensure that the overall compensation package of the president/ceo does not exceed the market based salary for the position. The evaluation and determination of the amount of any salary increase or raise is made in a board executive session and an officer of the board of directors provides written notification to congressional hispanic leadership institute, inc. Of the amount approved. The last time the full board members reviewed the president/ceo's compensation was in 2018.”
