Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Capturing childhood milestones through literature by providing children with access to the world of picture books. The Project will recommend reading lists of books that describe or otherwise address each of the milestones in a child's life: develop the Milestones Library Bookplate which allows a detailed description of each milestone to be included with a child's favorite book celebrating that achievement; sponsor a donation program for gently used books; maintain a lending library to make the website's recommended reading list available to children; conduct programs in which the same books are read in different languages by native speakers in the community; and sponsor presentations by authors and illustrators of children's books. Initially all activities will be free of charge; however, the Project may charge fees for some activities in the future, if necessary, to cover costs.
