Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

General explanation attachment

Primary exempt purpose: Streets Hope provides holistic restorative services to women escaping sex trafficking and the commercial sex industry and nurtures the resilience needed to heal, transform and thrive. Street's Hope intends to fulfill this mission by encouraging each woman to become balanced (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually), to be self-suporting apart from the sex industry, and to be an active part of a healthy community. This goal is broken down into five parts: 1) Empower women to leave commercial sex industries and sex trafficking, 2) Offer women the education, training, and skills necessary for self-sufficiency, 3) Support women in finding physical, mental, emotional and spiritual balance, 4) Encourage women to reestablish fractured relationships with their families and children, and 5) Restore women to a place of dignity and active participation in their communities.A secondary goal of Street's Hope is to raise community awareness to the causes and effects of the sex industry. Many women escaping the sex industry face stigmatization, alienation, victim blaming and inaccessibility to social services, making it significantly difficult to successfully become self-supportive. Street's Hope intends to raise community awareness to the situations causing women to initially enter the sex industry, the struggles that prevent many women from leaving the sex industry, and the impact both have on our shared community. Line 28: In 2014, Street's Hope provided residential and non residential services for 27 women escaping the commercial sex industries. Treatment services include: basic needs, case management, sobriety monitoring, group and individual therapy, mentoring and education/vocational assistance. Holistic restorative services nurture the resilience needed to heal, transform and thrive.
