Form 990, Part III, Line 3: Ceased Conducting or Significant Changes To Services

“During 2013, our texas branch of Furqaan Academy, FACC, was merged with GoodTree Academy (DBA of IQA Foundation). All assets, facility, and staff along with $300,000 of the divisional loan that FACC had outstanding was transferred to GTA, to be paid back to Al-Furqaan over 10 years, starting year 3 post merger (a 2 year grace was provided). The combined entity would continue under the GTA brand. One of our board members being local became a full member of the GTA/IQA board and our President being out of state joined the board as an ex-officio member.Additionally, for the year 2013 (the merger year), AFF/FACC and IQA/GTA entered into a Fiscal Agency agreement. This agreement made us the temporary Fiscal agent for IQA/GTA for its donations. All donations to IQA/GTA of $332,360 were recorded for IQA/GTA and deliverd to IQA/GTA during 2013. This unusual income and expense item is reflected in 2013 and will not be reflected in 2014.”

Our door to door distribution total stood at about 260,000 copies as we moved more to distribute copies through Masaajid and other dawah programs. We exercised higher emphasize on free distribution of our translation, books and flyers on Islam, and our translation to various hospitals, hotels and prisons this year. We also reprinted our earlier publication You should know this man Muhammad (PBUH); this remained in high demand throughout the year.
