Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 3

The school district of cambridge donated the services of the following people to act as officers of cambridge communities activities program, inc.: lesli rumpf, executive director; chad holpfer, parks, recreation, and youth director, and kathryn jenkins, director of aquatics operations. During 2018, lesli rumpf received $59,618 of compensation and $4,032 of benefits, chad holpfer received $42,958 of compensation and $3,237 of benefits, and kathryn jenkins received $37,952 of compensation and $2,834 of benefits.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 4

During 2018 the organization amended their purpose statement of their bylaws to: to develop and implement a community activities program; once created, to have oversight of youth, adult, and community program activities with school district activities and raise funds to support cambridge community activities program.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The prepared form 990 is reviewed by the executive director and chairperson before the return is filed with the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The organization's conflict of interest policy covers all directors and employees. Any director or employee is considered an interested person. In connection with any actual or possible conflict of interest the interested person must disclose all material facts to the directors. If the directors determine that a conflict of interest may exist the interested person cannot be present at the meeting while the determination of a conflict of interest is discussed and voted upon. If a conflict that may affect the daily or long-term operations of the organization is identified either the conflict is removed or the person is asked to no longer serve in such capacity. To ensure that the organization operates in a manner consistent with charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its tax-exempt status, each director and employee must annually sign a statement that affirms that such person has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, has read and understands the policy, and has agreed to comply with the policy.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

On an annual basis the directors research compensation data and consult with the school district's business manager. The directors also review the statewide school salary survey and use it to deliberate and make final decisions regarding compensation for the executive director and all employees.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The organization made its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request.
