“The croghan free library has 10271 fiction and non fiction books, magazines and electronic materials available to the public. There are three computers for patron use and wifi available, as well as a copy machine, printer and fax machine. Downloadable audio and e book service allows patrons access to a digital format when the library is not open. Monthly board meetings are open to the public and community input is welcome. The library is wheelchair accessible and several meetings and programs are held during the year. The library board has recently made all over due books fine free. During covid restrictions the library staff presented virtual programs on the library facebook page and on u tube. New books and updated information is posted on the library website.”

“Circulation of adult and childrens books and other materials during 2021 was 15635. There were 11056 visits to the library website and 352 reference questions answered. There were 227 programs held during the year. One hundred forty four children enrolled in the summer reading program. There is a teen area that allows students to do homework and use internet and wifi. There are movies for adults and children. Puzzles and legos for construction. Other programs include: knitting club, gardening, health and fitness classes, book club, internet safety classes and tutoring and literacy programs. There are also story hours for various age groups. Used eye glasses are collected for the lions club and items for local food bank. During covid restrictions virtual programs were presented and craft kits available for pick up to take home. In 2021 the library took part in the village street fair and provided face painting and free books to the public”

“Summer story hour is held for six weeks during july and august. It consists of various speakers who bring items of interest to demonstrate. A story is read and a craft made to take home. A healthy snack is also enjoyed. On sign up day a special is presented with various entertainment. An end of summer party is held and prizes are given for most books read during the summer months. Games are played and a barbecue is held when weather permits. In 2021 one hundred forty four children took part in summer story hour. During the year a preschool story hour was requested by several patrons. A story time for preschool was held twice a month to introduce young children to what the library has to offer.”
