Activity 2

The 42nd al sigl sports classic netted $100,187 for al sigl and our independent agencies. Beneficiaries use the dollars for equipment and programs. Examples include medical motor service using dollars to match a federal equipment grant that will purchase four vehicles that provide transportation services to passengers affiliated with multiple agencies and programs. The four buses will all be lift equipped and will accommodate five wheelchair users and four ambulatory passengers. There will be flip seats installed that will allow up to 18 ambulatory passengers. The vehicles will be used to transport a number of different passengers including senior citizens and adults with developmental disabilities. They will make it possible for rochester citizens to get the meals they need, attend the doctor's appointments they have scheduled and obtain the social interactions they deserve. Rochester rehabilitation used funding for sportsnet programs. In its 13 years of operation, sportsnet has served over 4,000 (unduplicated) youth and adults through a variety of events and activities. Each year, sportsnet delivers approximately 4,600 sports, fitness and recreation experiences to between 400 and 500 people with a range of disabling conditions. Cp rochester was helped in supporting and expanding the community recreation program which provides free or low cost recreation opportunities to people with special needs. Approximately 100 people were served this past year through over 1000 program hours. The al sigl sports committee also reviews grant proposals throughout the year for funding opportunities.

Activity 3

The al sigl foundation is charged with raising funds to advance the objectives of the al sigl community of agencies and its collaborative member agencies. Dollars raised are managed and allocated to one unified group of progressive member agencies working together to provide vital services and programs to those with disabilities and special needs. This empowered core is then able to bring greater abilities to life for others.
