This annual report focuses on two key areas; 1) the competitiveness of the senior management staff's base and total compensation (including benefits) vs. National benchmark data for comparably sized health care systems and hospitals (based upon 'total revenue' metrics), and 2) a 'reasonableness assessment' consistent with u.s. Treasury department regulations governing executive compensation for not-for-profit organizations. The data from this report assists the executive compensation committee in determining the appropriateness of the senior managements' current base and total compensation levels and the need for any adjustments for that calendar year.”

“Chenango memorial hospital purchased the podiatry practice that had been in norwich for 30 years. The podiatrists (2) are approaching retirement and chenango memorial hospital wanted to ensure podiatry services remained in the county. The long term plan was to add podiatry surgeries to our list of services so patients wouldn't need to travel to binghamton or elsewhere. That initiative was accomplished when a podiatry surgeon joined cmh in june 2018. Chenango county has one of the highest rates of diabetes in nys so cmh felt it essential that we retain this service for those particular patients. The practice has already experienced marked growth (5,228 visits vs budget of 3,200) and is expected to have over 6,000 visits in 2019.”

TOTAL INPATIENT DAYS FOR THE YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2017 WAS 4,261. DISCHARGES WERE 1,393, AND AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY WAS 3.06 DAYS. LONG TERM SKILLED NURSING DAYS WERE 25,282. THERE WERE 248 BIRTHS AND 271 INPATIENT SURGERIES PERFORMED AT CHENANGO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN 2017. IN 2017, CHENANGO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL GAVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 111 INDIVIDUALS FOR WHICH $147,747 OF INPATIENT CARE (AT CHARGES) WAS PROVIDED. |
