Financial Statement Notes

PART III, LINE 1A:

Terms for not reporting assets per sfas 116: the compiled financial statements contain the following footnote - collection items acquired either through purchase or donation are not capitalized. Purchases of collection items are recorded as decreases in net assets without donor restrictions if purchased with unrestricted assets and as decreases in net assets with donor restrictions if purchased with donor restricted assets. Contributions of collection items are not recognized in the statement of activities. Proceeds from deaccessions or insurance recoveries are reflected on the statement of activities based on the absence or existence and nature of donor-imposed restrictions.

PART III, LINE 4:

Collections and relation to exempt purpose the museum of natural history contains a variety of preserved specimens: insects, birds and animals, as well as rocks and minerals. There are also culteral exhibits including musical instruments from various countries. The historical museum contains local artifacts of hand tools, furniture, dishes, books, journals, newspapers and photographs.

PART X, LINE 2:

The association believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements.
