Warriors on Wheels is a free strength and conditioning physical rehabilitation program for people with disabilities. Our facility is located in a public housing high-rise in the urban community of the south end of Albany New York. We serve 175 to 200 clients per week, specifically those enduring financial hardship. Known as the program of last resort, we are referred people with little or no health insurance or financial means to pay for traditional rehabilitation. Our clients are in desperate need to rehabilitate themselves so they can lead vibrant lives of purpose and independence.

| Warriors on Wheels provides free strength and conditioning and physical rehab for people with disabilities. We serve people with a wide range of disabilities. People with MS, CP, ALS, spinal cord injury, autism, SMA, spina bifida, visually impaired, and other disabilities. Our clients are both ambulatory and wheelchair users. Our program offers these people with disabilities and opportunity to empower themselves to a life of purpose and independence. We specialize in serving people with disabilities enduring financial hardship that prevents them from engaging in traditional rehabilitation. All our services are free including transportation to and from our facility which we pay through our transportation fund. Founded in 1988 hundreds of people with disabilities have found our program life altering. We receive direct referrals from all area hospitals, schools and rehab centers. “Warriors Transportation Fund $9940 . Our program provides free transportation for our clients. This fund was in answer to the fact that it made zero sense to offer free participation if our clients could not afford to pay to transport themselves.”
“Warriors on Wheels Hercules Project $10,250. The Hercules project is our programs international outreach effort. Through the Hercules project we ship free resistance bands to war-torn and developing nations around the world. 2021 was very busy as we got back to filling requests after the Covid lockdowns. Our largest order of 2021 was shipped secretly to Syria through an organization based in Amman Jordan. The resistance bands we sent were smuggled into Syria wehere very brave therapists work with Landmine survivors and the many people who have become disabled as a result of the war.”
“New fitness equipment $5526. To bolster our programs cardiovascular Fitness regimen we purchased a Concept II rower and Concept II ski ergometer. We also purchased miscellaneous light dumbbells and cable machine attachments.”
“Promotional items $1145. Our program purchased T-shirts, hats, and hoodies that were passed along to our program participants for free.”
