“Arts in education programs: all school and grade level assemblies that promote the exploration of arts and science through interactive experiences, enhancing the classroom curriculum. Examples include local and regional history programs, creative arts, music and theater programs, hands-on science programs, character education presentations and health & wellness programs. The lion, the witch and the wardrobe by shakesperience productions grades 4, 5, 6 wcsd learning standards and nys learning standards include: higher thinking skills, goal setting/attainment, communications, and quality process. The shakespeare productions inc. Presentation incorporates post-performance activities which include: encouraging students to use what they learned from the performance, discussing how the production was presented, exploring how using the voice differently can produce a different character, and using narration and mime to tell a story. All of these skills will help the students evaluate and improve their own performances in music class. Inspector iwannano by mobile ed productions grades k-6 as part of fes's pbis program we incorporate the 6 pillars of character. This program will reinforce what the students learn during school day and comes shortly after our character counts week. Inspector iwannano, a live character actor, delivers a strong message within a comedy-packed, magic-filled program. Students will learn to "focus on my actions" because actions show character. Inspector iwannano involves your students in a mystery as they try to uncover certain "character clues" - aspects of a good character. The character traits covered are: respect, trustworthiness, care, responsibility, fairness, and good citizenship. After the program, students will be given colored paper corresponding to the colors of the character pillars - red for caring, yellow for respect, etc. Students will create a poster, drawing or write a story about that character pillar and what it means to them. Christmahanukawanzam by mobile ed productions grades k-2 this assembly will be a kick-off for the first grade unit on holidays. First graders learn about holidays around the world with an exciting unit that has them travel to many different countries. When they visit each country they will learn what the flag looks like, they will watch short videos and read stories about the traditions of each holiday celebrated in the country and learn about the special food eaten during the celebration. Students will also create a project or craft to go along with each holiday to take home. The students really enjoy this unit because we use several different resources to give them the full effect of how children in the different countries celebrate the holidays. Hip hop dance residency by ny dance residency (edwin fion) grade 6 (4 days, dec) grade 1 (2 days, april) students will learn the importance of teamwork, individual expression, focused attention, applied direction and discipline. They explore these skills through coordination challenges, high-energy and fun-filled exercises as they celebrate their individuality in a setting that allows creative flow and joy. This program positively impacts the way students learn about history, music, movement, teamwork and discipline by giving them a visceral experience to pair with the information being taught. Students will choreograph their own hip hop dance and present their work. Students will analyze and critique work collectively.
