“During the engagement and contracting process with an auditing firm, family services includes the stipulation that the form 990 be electronically submitted by the auditors to the organization prior to filing with the internal revenue service. Once family services receives the 990, the organization's ceo, cfo and board of directors audit committee convenes to review and approve the draft version. The review consists of a comprehensive, line by line evaluation and analysis of both financial and narrative information. After this review family services distributes the form 990 to the organization's entire governing body and files with the internal revenue service.”
“Annually, directors, officers, and key employees are asked to review and sign a new statement regarding conflicts of interest. The policies are distributed to the board and staff through manuals and employee handbooks. If at any time during a term of service, a director, officer, or key employee acquires any interest which may pose as a conflict, the interest or conflict must be promptly disclosed to the chair of the board. Additionally, the director, officer, or key employee in question shall revise their conflict of interest statement.”
“At least annually, the board of directors and/or the executive committee shall engage in a compensation analysis of the ceo and other top management officials to run concurrently with the annual performance evaluation of such employee(s). The board of directors and/or the executive committee, shall, after due deliberation and discussion regarding the total compensation, render a determination regarding whether the compensation is reasonable and whether sufficient, comparative information existed from like, or similar entities, to conclude that the total compensation of the ceo, or any other top management officials, is reasonable.”

“Ocfep - the orange county family education program works with families already involved with the department of social services. We work in a nonjudgmental manner in partnership with the family, providing modeling and coaching on effective parenting skills. Our program goal is to stop the inter-generational cycle of child abuse and neglect by teaching positive parenting behaviors. Snug - snug is an evidence-based street outreach program based on the cure violence model in chicago, which treats gun violence like a disease by identifying its causes and interrupting its transmission. The program focuses on youth between the ages of 14 and 24 who are at high risk for involvement with gun violence. The snug team develops and implements risk- reduction strategies to reduce that involvement with the goal of saving lives and helping individuals turn their lives around.”

The organization has been classified as an entity that is not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a) and qualifies for deductible contributions as provided in section 170(b)(1)(a)(vi). The organization adopted the provisions of accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america regarding accounting for uncertain income tax positions. Management evaluated the organization's tax positions and concluded that the organization had taken no uncertain tax positions that would require adjustment to the financial statements in order to comply with the provisions of this guidance. With few exceptions, the organization is no longer subject to income tax examinations by the u.s. Federal, state or local tax authorities for years prior to 2014.”
