Mission

To promote, support and protect natural, safe and healthy birth through education and advocacy.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Education the education program consists of our childbirth educator program and the specialty workshops. The childbirth educator program is a highly respected childbirth education program designed to prepare candidates to sit for the lamaze certified childbirth educator exam. We have accomplished the highest quality of education in training educators that turn around and teach parents how best to prepare for a safe and healthy birth. Quality education is paramount to lamaze and we are proud of our high quality continuing education programs, namely the specialty workshops which train educators on the latest evidence available. In addition to teaching educators, we reach hundreds of nurses through our labor support workshop, arming them the information and evidence they need to help women through labor.
Activity 3
Certification and contact hours the certification program continuously operates above bar and delivers the highest quality exam available to childbirth educators. The lcce exam is the only accredited certification exam. We spend significant resources to keep in compliance and maintain this accreditation to continue to deliver the only true certification credential in childbirth education. In order to promote the exam and increase participation we look for other high quality education programs to approve as a source for education to satisfy partial requirements to gain eligibility to sit for the exam.

WE LAUNCHED A CONSUMER CAMPAIGN, PUSH FOR YOUR BABY, TO PROVIDE EXPECTANT PARENTS WITH THE SUPPORT AND INFORMATION NEEDED TO PUSH FOR THE SAFEST, HEALTHIEST BIRTH POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION, THROUGH THE JPE (LAMAZE INTERNATIONAL'S PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL) WE CONTINUE TO EDUCATE AND KEEP EDUCATORS UP TO DATE TO DELIVER HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION AND RELEVANT INFORMATION TO CHILDBEARING WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE COMBINATION OF THE EFFORTS IN OUR COMMUNICATIONS HAS PROVEN SUCCESSFUL IN INCREASING THE FOOTPRINT AND ENGAGEMENT WITH LAMAZE INTERNATIONAL.
