Episcopal social services of new york, inc. (ess) and sheltering arms day care services, inc. (sadcs) were membership organizations in which episcopal mission society (ems) was the sole member. During the year ended june 30, 2015, ems and sadcs merged into ess, which was renamed sheltering arms children and family services, inc. As a result of the merger, all assets were transferred to and liabilities assumed by sheltering arms children and family services, inc.

As a result of the merger, the investments of episcopal mission society were transferred to sheltering arms children and family services, inc. (successor of merger between episcopal mission society, episcopal social services of new york, inc. And sheltering arms day care services, inc.)

PART X, LINE 2:

As of june 30, 2015, management believes that based on evaluation of the society's tax positions that any liability as a result of uncertain tax positions would not be material. Management continually evaluates expiring statutes of limitations, changes in tax law, and new authoritative rulings to assist in evaluating the society's tax positions. Accrued interest and penalties associated with uncertain tax positions, if any, would be recognized as part of an income tax provision. Income tax returns are filed only with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction as state and local tax returns are not applicable. U.s. Federal income tax returns prior to fiscal year 2011 are closed.
