THIS AMOUNT IS IN EXCESS OF THE 10% REQUIRED BY REGULATION SECTION 1.170A-(9)(E)(3)(I).ATTRACTION OF PUBLIC SUPPORT: THE ORGANIZATION HAS A PROGRAM OF REGULARLY SOLICITING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ITS CONSTITUENCY, WHICH IS IN EXCESS OF 6,000 INDIVIDUALS WORLDWIDE, IN CONNECTION WITH ITS VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES THE SOLICITATION OF ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS, SPECIAL APPEALS IN CONNECTION WITH ITS PROGRAMS AND GENERAL SOLICITATIONS IN ITS PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION FROM TIME TO TIME HAS ENGAGED THE SERVICES AND ADVICE OF NOT-FOR-PROFIT PROFESSIONALS IN ORDER TO ENHANCE ITS DEVELOPMENT AND FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS AND FIVE YEARS AGO HIRED A FULLTIME DEVELOPMENT STAFF PERSON. SOURCES OF SUPPORT: THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES CONTRIBUTIONS AND SUPPORT FROM ALUMNI, FORMER FACULTY, TRUSTEES (CURRENT AND PAST), PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS, PARENTS OF STUDENTS AND RELATIVES OF FOUNDERS AND FRIENDS OF THE THE INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY IN TOKYO, JAPAN AND OTHER CONTRIBUTORS INTERESTED IN THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. IT ALSO RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM JICUF ENDOWMENT, INC. (EIN# 13-5596791), A SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION. AS INDICATED ABOVE, THE ORGANIZATION HAS A SIGNIFICANT CONSTITUENT BASE IN EXCESS OF 6,000 WORLDWIDE AND REGULARLY RECEIVES CONTRIBUTIONS FROM CORPORATIONS, FOUNDATIONS, AND OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNING BODY: THE ORGANIZATION HAS A BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONSISTING OF 14 INDIVIDUALS DRAWN FROM BOTH THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS. GENERALLY, BOARD MEMBERS HAVE A COMMON INTEREST IN THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION AND COME FROM ACADEMIA, THE RELIGIOUS SECTOR, BUSINESS, THE PROFESSIONS AND THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT SECTOR. BOARD MEMBERS ARE CHOSEN FOR THEIR LEVEL OF EXPERTISE BOTH IN THE AREA OF ACADEMICS AS WELL AS THOSE AREAS INVOLVING THE GENERAL OPERATION OF THE ORGANIZATION.AVAILABILITY OF FACILITIES TO PUBLIC AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMS: THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO BUILD ON CHRISTIAN VALUES, INCREASING THE NUMBERS OF INTERNATIONAL FACULTY MEMBERS AND STUDENTS, AND STRENGTHENING JAPANESE-AMERICAN RELATIONS THROUGH ITS SUPPORT OF THE PROGRAMS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY IN TOKYO. IT ACCOMPLISHES ITS MISSION THROUGH REGULAR PROGRAMS OF LECTURES, PRESENTATIONS AND OUTREACH TO INDIVIDUALS WITH PAST AND CURRENT INTEREST IN ITS MISSION. SUCH PRESENTATIONS FOCUS ON THE INTERRELATIONSHIPS OF ASIAN-AMERICAN ISSUES AND EDUCATION, THE IMPACT OF CHRISTIAN VALUES ON THE EDUCATION PROCESS AND VARIOUS OTHER RELATED AREAS. THE ORGANIZATION MAKES ITS OFFICES AVAILABLE FOR SMALL GATHERINGS IN THE NEW YORK AREA AND THE PRESIDENT AND STAFF FREQUENTLY VISIT AND PRESENT TO MEETINGS ACROSS THE U.S. A BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING IS ANNUALLY HELD IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION EACH YEAR TO FURTHER INVOLVE THE INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS IN THOSE LOCATIONS. GIVEN THE LIMITATIONS OF THEIR SMALL SIZE, WE BELIEVE THAT THE ORGANIZATION IS APPROPRIATELY REACHING OUT TO ITS PUBLIC CONSTITUENCY.
