HPDC ACTS AS NYC'S PRIMARY INTERMEDIARY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW, AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP HOUSING. HPDC LESSENS THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT BY FACILITATING INVOLVEMENT IN FEDERAL, STATE, AND MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT HOUSING PROGRAMS. HPDC HAS OVERSEEN CONSTRUCTION OF AN AVERAGE OF 1,200 UNITS ANNUALLY THROUGH OUTSIDE PRIVATE SECTOR BUILDERS AND DEVELOPER, AND FULFILLS A UNIQUE ROLE DUE TO ITS EMPHASIS ON AFFORDABLE HOMEWOWNERSHIP FOR NYC RESIDENTS.
