Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The organization has one governing board which votes and decides on all issues. Upon completion of the 990 the auditors will submit a copy to the organization's treasurer. After the treasurer's review, a paper copy is then presented to the entire governing board. Upon board approval, the treasurer signs the document and files the original with the irs.

The board mandates that all members of management and the governing body sign a conflict of interest policy and disclose any potential or actual conflicts that may exist. If a conflict of interest exists the organization will notify members of management or the governing body and investigat the conflict. If it is determined that an actual conflict of interest exists, the member of management or the governing body will be notified immediately and will not be allowed to vote or be part of any decisions about such transactions.

SUPPORTIVE HOUSING HAS BECOME ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE (AND COST-EFFECTIVE) INTERVENTIONS EVER DEVISED TO END HOMELESSNESS AMONG THE MOST VULNERABLE: INDIVIDUALS COPING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS, TRAUMA/ABUSE, ADDICTION AND CHRONIC ILLNESS INCLUDING HIV/AIDS. SUPPORTIVE HOUSING IS A COMMON-SENSE SOLUTION TO A SEEMINGLY INTRACTABLE SOCIAL PROBLEM. CITILEAF HOUSING PROVIDES PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR 50 PEOPLE WHO ARE FORMERLY HOMELESS LIVING WITH AIDS.
