Activity 2

ARRA PROGRAM - this program provides training to the unemployed and underemployed, place the unemployed in jobs, create safer environments for children and provide emergency housing assistance to those in need. Specifically, WestCOP's receipt of ARRA funds enabled us to create more than 50 jobs; assist more than 150 unemployed persons with obtaining gainful employment; assist 50 consumers with obtaining emergency rent or mortgage assistance; improve the health and physical development of more than 50 youth; expand Head Start Services into underserved areas and create safer environments for children; assist over 400 individuals with obtaining pre-employment skills needed for employment and provide a mechanism for 75 customers to receive credentials in hospitality and/or customer service in preparation for employment in retail, food, security and transportation.

Activity 3

Weatherization is a program run by the Organization through funds received from the Department of Energy. The program seeks to provide assistance to low income families whose homes are in need of repairs and/or to make their homes more energy efficient. It also provides home energy assistance information and referrals.
