Activity 2

Child care and educational programs are offered at our activity center on north street. The ywca operates early-childhood, educational, after-school, and summer camp programs serving hundreds of children, infants through sixth grade. Parents come from many westchester communities, and include teen parents who attend the white plains high school. A friendly, nurturing environment at both the white plains and new rochelle courthouses is provided for children whose parents are attending to issues before the court. A supervised visitation program assists with visits between children and their non-custodial parents, providing a family-friendly setting that meets the needs of families at risk for domestic violence.

Activity 3

Health and fitness programs - the ywca is home to one of the largest health and wellness programs in westchester, serving approximately 2,000 annual participants in aquatics, gymnastics, fitness, competitive swimming and gymnastics, and other youth fitness programs, such as soccer and ballet. Adult programs include a fitness center, fitness and yoga classes, aqua aerobics, swim classes and lifeguard training. Recreation and fitness programs are also offered to developmentally disabled individuals to provide respite for their families.
