Mission

St. Christopher's, inc. Is an innovative adolescent development organization dedicated to helping children with special needs and their families by developing a seamless continuum of care. The organization provides therapeutic intervention and life planning skills in a safe and nurturing environment with the goal of helping each child reach his/her full potential.

To provide residential programs for children with special needs primarily referred by local school district committees for special education.

FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 11B:

Form 990 is prepared by the cpa firm from audited financial statements and trial balance as well as from information the organization's cfo provides to them in a tax organizer. The cpa firm furnishes draft form 990 which is reviewed by management, including the cfo. After approval, the cfo provides an electronic copy of form 990 to the full board with an opportunity to review and coordinate any appropriate changes to form 990 before it is finalized and filed with the irs.

FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 12C:

Board members annually file a report to disclose interests that could give rise to a conflict of interest.

FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 15A:

The executive committee of the board of directors annually evaluates the ceo's compensation by utilizing comparability data of similar nonprofit organizations and by comparing 990 data of other organizations; and after this review, the committee sets the ceo's compensation by contract.

FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 15B:

The ceo, through documented written evaluation, determines the compensation of key employees. In addition, through annual board approved salary budgets, the compensation of the organization's officers and key employees are approved.

The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy and financial statements available to the public upon request.

FORM 990, PART VII, SECTION A, AND SCHEDULE J, PART II:

Robert maher, ceo, and marshall asche, cfo, are compensated exclusively by the reporting organization, where they dedicate 90% of their time. The remainder 10% of their time is charged to mcquade foundation, a related organization.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

Funds are restricted to general endowment of the organization and only income from these funds can be used to support the general purpose of the organization.

PART X, LINE 2:

ASC 740, "Income Taxes", requires that organizations must recognize the tax benefit associated with tax positions taken for tax return purposes when it is more likely than not that the position will not be sustained upon examination. St. Christopher's, Inc. does not believe there are any material uncertain tax positions and, accordingly, it will not recognize any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. The Organization has filed for and received income tax exemptions in the jurisdictions where it is required to do so. Additionally, the Organization has filed Internal Revenue Service Form 990 tax returns, as required, and all other applicable returns in jurisdictions when it is required. For the year ended June 30, 2014, there was no interest or penalties recorded or included in the combined statement of activities. Management believes that the Organization is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to 2011.
