Mission

The club conducts educational & cultural programs open to the public at no charge. These programs include presentations, workshops, discussions, musical performances and related activities addressing a broad range of educational and cultural subjects, including world cultures, literature and film, visual and performing arts, food and dining, home and garden, pottery and music.these programs are designed to promote lifelong learning, cultural enrichment and community engagement.the club engages in charitable activities through fundraising including tag sales throughout the year. All funds raised are used to support charitable organizations that benefit women, children and the general public with an emphasis on health, education and community well-being.the club conducts ongoing book collection and distribution programs that provides books to military personnel, underserved communities,peace corps locations and other qualifying recipients to advance educational and charitable objectives.

The programs include varied musical performances from brazilian jazz to vivaldi; and speakers on a wide range of topics including antique timepieces, african wildlife, women in art, and pearls and gems. Members participate in a thrift store and tag sales throughout the year. Money raised is donated to charities which support women and children. Our members volunteer time in some of these organizations, as part of our community outreach program. There shall be 4 classes of membership: -life: all founder and charter members and all past presidents shall be life members, a member in her thirty-fifth year of active membership shall become a life member as of april 1st. -active: women who reside in the service area are eligle for active membership. -non-resident: active members in good standing who moveout of the service area are eligible for non-resident membership. -evening: women who reside in the service area are eligible for evening membership. Any woman interested in membership may submit a written application to the membership committee. Active and evening members paying active dues, and life members shall be entitled to vote and hold office in the club or its sections.

Officers shall be elected by the membership at the annual meeting of the club for the term of one year, and shall continue in office until their successors are duly elected and qualified. The directors shall be elected by the membership.

The organization's conflict of interest policy is applicable to all board members, the club attorney, all section presidents and treasurers, and any individual who handles money or signs contracts for the organization. Each year, they are required to sign a conflict of interest statement for any actual or potential conflicts. A copy of the policy is also included in the club yearbook, which is provided to each member every year. If a conflict were to arise, it would be brought to the audit committee's attention for review. The committee would then decide how to proceed. Women who cannot attend dayime events may wish to participate in our evening section. It meets once a month. The group has several ongoing philanthropic projects; it also sponsors programs and lectures of interest to the group. Part iii, line 1: to foster interest and promote philanthropy in the community and education, personal enrichment and culture in a broad range of fields. To offer programs to educate and inform, and serve a a source and center for enrichment, educational and cultural, through lectures, presentations, workshops, discussions, concerts, tours and other activities. To respond to the needs of the community philanthropic projects; and to offer a variety of philanthropic activities and to undertake projects to generate support for such endeavors, including the ownership and operation of the thrift shop, the promotion of literacy, the aid and support of children of incarcerated women, the visitations and provision of emotional support to children, the sick, and the elderly. The furnishing of holiday meals for homeless and indigent persons, and the provision of administrative assistance to the non-profit healthcare and other organizations. To solicit, collect, and otherwise raise money for charitable and philanthropic purposes; to solicit and receive by gift, bequest, or otherwise, money or other property, and to extend, contribute, disburse and otherwise handle, sell and dispose of, and to act as a center for the sale or other disposal of, the same, and to pay over or apply the net proceeds from such sales as it may be deemed best for the promotion of charity and philanthropy, either directly or by contributions to other agencies, organizations or institutions. THE CLUB IS RUN COMPLETELY BY ITS MEMBER VOLUNTEERS, WHO ARE ENGAGED IN NUMEROUS EDUCATIONAL AND PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES. SOME OF OUR MEMBERS MEET IN THE EVENINGS. FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH MAY, ON MOST WEDNESDAYS, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS PROGRAMS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE. THE PROGRAMS INCLUDE VARIED MUSICAL PERFORMANCES FROM BRAZILIAN JAZZ TO VIVALDI; AND SPEAKERS ON A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS INCLUDING ANTIQUE TIMEPIECES, AFRICAN WILDLIFE, WOMEN IN ART, AND PEARLS AND GEMS. MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN A THRIFT STORE AND TAG SALES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. MONEY RAISED IS DONATED TO CHARITIES WHICH SUPPORT WOMEN AND CHILDREN. OUR MEMBERS VOLUNTEER TIME IN SOME OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS, AS PART OF OUR COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM. THE CLUB IS RUN COMPLETELY BY ITS MEMBER VOLUNTEERS, WHO ARE ENGAGED IN NUMEROUS EDUCATIONAL AND PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES. SOME OF OUR MEMBERS MEET IN THE EVENINGS. FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH MAY, ON MOST WEDNESDAYS, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS PROGRAMS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE. THE PROGRAMS INCLUDE VARIED MUSICAL PERFORMANCES FROM BRAZILIAN JAZZ TO VIVALDI; AND SPEAKERS ON A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS INCLUDING ANTIQUE TIMEPIECES, AFRICAN WILDLIFE, WOMEN IN ART, AND PEARLS AND GEMS. MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN A THRIFT STORE AND TAG SALES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. MONEY RAISED IS DONATED TO CHARITIES WHICH SUPPORT WOMEN AND CHILDREN. OUR MEMBERS VOLUNTEER TIME IN SOME OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS, AS PART OF OUR COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM. FOR MORE THAN FIFTY YEARS, WE HAVE COLLECTED AND DISTRIBUTED BOOKS FOR PRISONS, HOSPITALS, PEACE CORPS LOCATIONS, THE MERCHANT MARINE, AND OTHERS. WOMEN WHO CANNOT ATTEND DAYIME EVENTS MAY WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR EVENING SECTION. IT MEETS ONCE A MONTH. THE GROUP HAS SEVERAL ONGOING PHILANTHROPIC PROJECTS; IT ALSO SPONSORS PROGRAMS AND LECTURES OF INTEREST TO THE GROUP. PART III, LINE 1: TO FOSTER INTEREST AND PROMOTE PHILANTHROPY IN THE COMMUNITY AND EDUCATION, PERSONAL ENRICHMENT AND CULTURE IN A BROAD RANGE OF FIELDS. TO OFFER PROGRAMS TO EDUCATE AND INFORM, AND SERVE A A SOURCE AND CENTER FOR ENRICHMENT, EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL, THROUGH LECTURES, PRESENTATIONS, WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSIONS, CONCERTS, TOURS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. TO RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY PHILANTHROPIC PROJECTS; AND TO OFFER A VARIETY OF PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES AND TO UNDERTAKE PROJECTS TO GENERATE SUPPORT FOR SUCH ENDEAVORS, INCLUDING THE OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION OF THE THRIFT SHOP, THE PROMOTION OF LITERACY, THE AID AND SUPPORT OF CHILDREN OF INCARCERATED WOMEN, THE VISITATIONS AND PROVISION OF EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TO CHILDREN, THE SICK, AND THE ELDERLY. THE FURNISHING OF HOLIDAY MEALS FOR HOMELESS AND INDIGENT PERSONS, AND THE PROVISION OF ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE TO THE NON-PROFIT HEALTHCARE AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS.
