Mission

The organizations purpose is to maintain a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for seniors that participate in the various programs offered at the senior centers. The goals are achieved by effectively administering programs that encourage health and well-ness, motivate active participants and foster creative use of leisure time.

The organization provides social services that enables the elderly to maintain their independence while residing at home in their preferred community. The mission is to improve the quality of life for participants.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The form 990 and the supporting schedules that are prepared by the CPA firm is submitted to the Chief Financial Officer to be reviewed, and circulated among board members for further review and approval. Board members also have access to the organizations website to review the form and schedules. Upon acceptance of the prepared form and supporting schedules, the return is submitted to the IRS, electronically.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

All officers, directors and key employees of the organization are required to sign an annual disclosure form relating to any potential conflicts that could affect the scope of services rendered to the organization. Signed disclosure forms are reviewed and monitored by the board governance committee on an annual basis. Individuals are expected to communicate any possible conflict of interest on an ongoing basis. Appropriate actions are taken to correct any conflict, wherever necessary.
