Mission

Thursday's Child, Inc. is a State of Delaware nonprofit corporation that services the communities of New York. The organization's primary goal is to provide outreach and education on the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) through coordination, development and Provision of services. These services include advocacy, housing, counseling and education to increase public awareness.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Line 11B: Form 990 Review Process

The books are prepared by the program manager of the organization. A public accounting firm assists the program manager at year end to prepare the books for annual review and preparers the organizations tax return. Once both the tax return and review are complete the board of directors approves both financial documents for submission to the governing bodies.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

As a small organization the eis and program manager submit to the board of directors bi-monthly email reports of activity. Each may submit additional emails as necessary. The board of directors monitors and evualates the operations of the organization and where applicable the board or its members will either direct the staff to address or remove themselves from a situation or where there is a direct conflict by a board member that member will not vote on the matter.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15B: Compensation Review and Approval Process for Officers and Key Employees

Annually the board of directors review the budgets and approves raises for key employees. All members of the board of directors are not compensated for their services to the organization as board members.
