Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Safe space's mission has remained the same for almost a century: to protect kids, keep them safe, and help them grow. Safe space strives to support and strengthen families by preventing child abuse and neglect, helping teenagers grow into self-sufficient adults, and improving overall health and well-being for individuals and the southeast queens community at large. Jamaica, far rockaway, and richmond hill (including the surrounding areas of ozone park and howard beach) are the primary neighborhoods served by safe space.on december 19, 2016, safe space merged into sheltering arms children and family services, inc.which is continuing to provide these services.

To protect kids, keep them safe, and help them grow.

PART X, LINE 2:

As of june 30, 2014, management believes that based on evaluation of safe space's tax positions that any liability as a result of uncertain tax positions would not be material. Management continually evaluates expiring statutes of limitations, changes in tax law, and new authoritative rulings to assist in evaluating safe space's tax positions. Accrued interest and penalties associated with uncertain tax positions, if any, would be recognized as part of an income tax provision. Income tax returns are filed only with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction as state and local tax returns are not applicable. U.s. Federal income tax returns prior to fiscal year 2010 are closed.
