Sl network supports two life-changing programs through education that promote a college-going culture in schools and make the dream of college a reality for students growing up in low-income communities.”

“College bound initiative (cbi): cbi is a comprehensive school-based college guidance program for single-sex and co-ed public schools that supports 6th through 12th grade students in achieving their college-going dreams. Cbi's goal is to raise parent and student expectations, create a school wide culture of success, increase student college enrollment rates, and secure critical financial aid to make higher education affordable. In the 20-21 school year, cbi served 13,657 boys and girls in grades 6-12. Demographically, 81% were eligible for free or reduced lunch; 60% were hispanic, 22% african american, 11% asian, 5% caucasian, and 2% other. For the class of 2021, cbi served 1,989 seniors, 83% of the graduates were accepted to college and plan to enroll. 65% were accepted to a 4-year college and 19% to 2-year colleges. Cbi participants graduating from our partner high schools enroll in four-year college degrees at nearly double the rate of their comparison group. For the class of 2021, cbi counselors generated $27.0 million in scholarships and grants. The average student package was $16,384.”

“The young women's leadership schools (tywls): through its high-performing network of all-girls public secondary schools, the network provides students from under-resourced communities with life-changing educational access. Our schools' high quality education and comprehensive college guidance programs ensure that 96% of our girls' school graduates are accepted to college. Over 60% of these girls are first generation college students. In the 20-21 school year, we educated 2,580 girls in grades 6-12. Demographically, 79% were eligible for free or reduced lunch; 43% hispanic, 27% were african american, 20% asian, 6% caucasian, and 4% other. For the class of 2021, tywls graduated 319 seniors, 95% of the graduates were accepted to college and plan to enroll. 83% were accepted to a 4-year college and 12% to 2-year colleges. For the class of 2021, cbi counselors at five tywls schools generated $5.4 million in scholarships and grants. The average student package was $17,968.”
