“College bound initiative (cbi): cbi is a comprehensive school-based college guidance program for single-sex and co-ed public schools that supports 6th through 12th grade students in achieving their college-going dreams. Cbi's goal is to raise parent and student expectations, create a school wide culture of success, increase student college enrollment rates, and secure critical financial aid to make higher education affordable. In fiscal year 2018, student leadership network supported the development and operation of cbi in thirty-four public schools in new york city. For the class of 2019, cbi served 2,521 seniors, 96% of the graduates were accepted to college and plan to enroll. 72% were accepted to a 4-year college and 22% to 2-year colleges. Cbi participants graduating from our partner high schools enroll in four-year college degrees at nearly double the rate of their comparison group. In the 18-19 school year, cbi served 16,798 boys and girls in grades 6-12. Demographically, 82% were eligible for free or reduce lunch; 59% were hispanic, 24% african american, 10% asian, 5% caucasian, and 2% other. For the class of 2019, cbi counselors generated $37.9 million in scholarships and grants. The average student package was $18,227. In fiscal year 2019, student leadership network supported the development and operation of cbi in thirty-two public schools in new york city.”

“The young women's leadership schools (tywls): through its high-performing network of all-girls public secondary schools, the network provides young women from under-resourced communities with life-changing educational access. Our schools' high quality education and comprehensive college guidance programs ensure that 96% of our girls' school graduates are accepted to college. Over 60% of these girls are first generation college students. In the 18-19 school year, we educated 2,531 girls in grades 6-12. Demographically, 78% were eligible for free or reduce lunch; 43% hispanic, 29% were african american, 19% asian, 6% caucasian, and 3% other. For the class of 2019, tywls graduated 303 seniors, 99% of the graduates were accepted to college and plan to enroll. 83% were accepted to a 4-year college and 15% to 2-year colleges. For the class of 2019, cbi counselors at five tywls schools generated $6.29 million in scholarships and grants. The average student package was $24,979.”
