Mission

The mission of lppc is to focus on issues that concern public power systems, to monitor developments in the electric industry that affect large public power systems, to promote the mutual improvement and advance the common progress of it members.

Lppc and its members work with citizens, legislators, regulators and local officials to develop and advance consumer-oriented positions on national energy issues.

The members of lppc are 27 public utilities. The ceos of the 27 members of lppc, or their designees, are considered directors and serve as the governing body

In accordance with article vi of the lppc by-laws, the steering committee has certain governing authority granted by the governing body.

The form 990 is prepared by lppc's treasurer and reviewed by lppc's general counsel. The governing body is provided with a year-to-date income statement at least three times per year, including as of december 31.

The annual consulting fees paid to lppcs executive director an independent consultant, are set by the governing body of lppc, none of whom are employed or compensatied by lppc.the consulting fee is based on prevailing rates for similar consulting services. The presidents compensation was established based on relevant market factors and market data. Compensation level was approved by the steering committee and the board of directors.
