The project is a non-stock, non-profit corporation, which is exempt from federal and state income taxes on exempt function income as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. The project did not recognize any liability for uncertain tax positions as defined by accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america.
