“The principal office of each member organization must be located in the state of connecticut. Each member organization's primary focus must be the provision of services to individuals who are victims of domestic violence, and their children. Each member organization must have tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Each member organization must abide by the following ccadv requirements: the ccadv standards for member organization; the funding policy (including the ccadv grievance procedures); the principles of unity; and the victim's rights policy; duly adopted by the member organizations and the board. Each member organization's board of directors must sign a membership agreement annually. Each member organization must pay annual dues to ccadv. Each member organization must serve a region in the state of connecticut that is not being served by other member organizations, unless shared towns are agreed upon, to ensure compliance with the funding policy and the principles of unity. Each member organization must be designated as a domestic violence program by the state of connecticut.”
“The annual membership meeting of ccadv shall be held once per year. The primary purpose of this annual meeting shall be the installation of officers and directors. Notice of the time, date and location shall be announced to member organizations thirty (30) calendar days prior to the event. Where a physical meeting of the membership is impractical, the president may choose to poll all board members by telephonic or electronic means as available under section v of article v, for the purpose of voting on the installation of officers and directors. The board shall be elected by a simple majority vote of the designated representatives from the member organizations, either by written ballot or at the annual meeting which shall be held before the end of the fiscal year.”

In addition, every board member and employee has an obligation to protect the organization by bringing attention to any issue that could be construed as a conflict of interest.”
“The executive committee determines the salary of the president/ceo based on comparable data in the current market and votes to approve the salary. The salary for other officers is based on a market analysis of similar positions. The compensation is reviewed and approved by the president/ceo.”

“Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the coalition and has concluded that, as of june 30, 2024 and 2023, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. The coalition's federal and state information returns prior to fiscal year 2021 are closed and management continually evaluates expiring statutes of limitations, audits, proposed settlements, changes in tax law and new authoritative rulings. If the coalition had unrelated business income taxes it would recognize any interest and penalties associated with tax matters as part of the income tax provision and include any accrued interest and penalties with the related tax liability in the statements of financial position.”
