Activity 2

Dental department: community health center, inc. (chc) is one of the largest providers of clinical dentistry in the state of connecticut. It provides comprehensive general dentistry services from multiple offices across connecticut, as well as in its innovative mobile dentistry program which goes to over one hundred and thirty schools to bring dental care to low income and uninsured children. Chc's teams of dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants provide state of the art dental care emphasizing prevention and restoration of oral health. When restoration is not possible, surgical extraction and prosthetics are the next course of action. Chc welcomes residents in general dentistry and students from the university of connecticut school of dental medicine as (see schedule o) well as dental assistant and dental hygiene students from a number of colleges and schools.

Activity 3

Behavioral health department: community health center, inc. (chc) provides individual, group, and family treatment for adults and children referred primarily from its primary care department, as well as from community sources. The chc behaviorial health team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric aprns, psychologists, lcsws, and social workers who work in an integrated model with the primary care team to assure coordinated, comprehensive care. Chc partners with multiple school systems to imbed a chc behavioralist within schools to provide early intervention and treatment of behavioral health disturbances.
