“The form 990 information is assembled by the chief financial officer with assistance from other staff. The information is sent to an independent audit & tax firm who completes and reviews the return. The completed return is reviewed by management and the finance & audit committee. After incorporating any recommendations or modifications, the 990, with schedule b redacted to protect the privacy of individual donors, is emailed to the board prior to filing.”

“At the beginning of each fiscal year the board members, executive director, associate executive director, chief operating officer and chief financial officer are required to sign a statement indicating that they are familiar with the organization's conflict of interest policy and that they either have no conflicts or they list whatever conflicts they may have. Potential conflicts of interest are discussed, reviewed, and determined by the board of directors. Any officer or director deemed to have a conflict of interest must recuse himself/herself from discussions and decisions on the transaction which he/she is a part of.”

The executive committee last approved the compensation of the executive director, the associate executive director, chief financial officer, the chief justice officer and the development officer in june 2023.”
