“Sewa-aifw provides services to the vulnerable and underserved south asian population living in minnesota. There are over 80,000 south asians living in minnesota. 42000 asian indians alone. Aifw is the only social services agency serving this population of immigrants and refugees in a culturally specific way.”

“Community health initiatives include free monthly health clinic, health programs/conferences, and advocacy. These programs are provided by volunteer physicians, dentists, and nurse practitioners. Sewa provided direct services to over 1,500 people in 2017. 2000 people in the area of education on heart disease, diabetes and nutrition education. Collaborated with other agencies on women domestic violence in exploited asian women and children. The publication is on minnesota 's department of health website. The report out in 2017. Over 100 women participated in the survey in 2017. Worked closely with community members to complete this survey.”

“Crime victims grant: directly served 341 women who were victim of domestic violence by direct services as we'll as providing resources, consulting and education for safety - coordinated cultural events to remove isolation and helped seniors with winter clothing, career counseling, and community engagement. Served over 60 bhutanese youth and adults in 2017 in leadership training so they are kept off the streets by providing resources for sports activities such as soccer for boys and girls 6-18yrs old.”

“Community health outreach and senior engagement with various outdoor activities including holiday lunch, visit to the temple, nutrition education and summer picnics. Served over 60 seniors in the community in 2017.”

“Crisis line and women's programs provide support and education as it related to domestic violence, immigration issues, and educating them on assimilating into this country in a culturally specific way. Served over 2,000 hours spent in consulting and counseling serving women in 2017 and received over 360 crisis line calls 70% were domestic violence.”
